Projects for the 2011-2012 School Year!

 

Current Projects:

  1. We finished our Student Body Project. FCCLA members are a skit about "MyPlate" to 2nd and 3rd grade students.
  2. We held a bake sale and raised money for Domestic Violence Awareness Month. With this money, we were able to sponsor two trees in downtown Durant--1 for FCCLA and 1 for the school.
  3. We sold two hundred paper pumpkins for Cystic Fibrosis.
  4. FCCLA members sold Rada.
  5. We hosted Project Safe for the 7th graders. Karen Lyons from the Choctaw Nation was our presenter. Project Safe deals with bullying and bullying prevention.
  6. We hosted our annual canned food drive and collected 2030 food items. We would like to thank everyone who participated.
  7. FCCLA members--Nov. 9th will be our monthly member activity. We are watching a movie after school. Remember to bring your own snacks and drinks.
  8. Members competed at District Competitions. One member is moving forward in New Member FACTS and a team is moving forward in Life Event Planning.
  9. Next, we collected 176 items for Toys for Tots.
  10. Our Christmas Party was Dec. 7th at 3:10 till 4:30.

 Spring Semester Projects:

  1. State Officer Interview were Jan. 10th at Stillwater. We had two students who interviewed. One student made it to the second round, but then was eliminated.
  2. Pennies for Patients ran from Jan. 16th-Feb. 3rd. We collected $1,426.18. The money raised goes to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
  3. Regional Competitions were Feb. 7th at Ada. Several students competed. One student placed second, and the other group placed third. 
  4. We have recently completed are Career Connections and Community Service Projects.
  5. Various members are getting ready for State Competitions.
