Eastward Special Education
I graduated from Colbert High School in 2007. I earned my degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 2011.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in the area of Special Education: Mild/Moderate Disabilities. I am also certified in the areas of Severe-Profound/Multiple Disabilities, Early Childhood Education, and Elementary Education.
I have attended numerous conferences discussing topics such as Autism, ADHD/ADD, Emotional Disabilites, Anxiety Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, and many others.
In August of 2011, I began working at Colbert High School as the Special Education Teacher's Assistant. In August of 2012, I actually took over as the Special Education Teacher at Colbert High School. I taught there one year, and then started teaching at Eastward in August of 2013.
I married the love of my life, Kevin Owens, in June of 2009. In 2013, we were blessed with the most beautiful and smart little girl. Keely is our pride and joy!! They are both my world!! I love animals so we usually have several. We have horses, cows, chickens, dogs, cats and even some unwanted pets since we live in the country. We also have three bearded dragons; Gus, Harold and Molly. :)
I love all things dealing with being outside! Hunting, fishing, any kind of sports, riding side-by-sides, drawing, crocheting, sewing, singing, and playing numerous instruments are just some of my many hobbies. I also love just hanging out with my family. When I am not teaching I am usually playing with my daughter, cooking, cleaning, or I’m outside! I am very blessed to have the most loving and supportive family. God is the biggest part of my life. Without Him, we would have nothing!!! :)
