While this is my first year at Colbert as a counselor, this school and the people here have always held a very special place in my heart. Not only did I attend school here, but my grandparents, Kenneth and Bonnie Taylor, and my mom, Toni Terrell, all retired from teaching here. Being back in these hallways feels like coming home.
After receiving my elementary education degree, I taught 3rd grade for 2 years while working on my Masters. Once I graduated from OU I began working as an LPC for an agency in Durant. I am excited to be here to get to know and work with the students at Colbert.
My husband Justin and I got married in December of 2017. We have three children… Landry, Kenna, and Tatum. Landry is 5 and is in kindergarten here at Colbert. He loves Spider-Man and building Legos. Kenna is 3 and she is in the three-year old program. She loves Frozen and chocolate! Tatum was born in September of this year and she loves to be snuggled.
We have a Labradoodle named Teddy. He is a very energetic, but sweet dog. His nick-name is Teddy Buds.
When I’m not at school I enjoy spending time with my family. We like to make brownies, paint, and play outside. I also enjoy singing in the praise and worship band at our church.
